Movies I recommend to help you feel inspired or just focus on something not terrible for a bit :)

Soul (Disney+ 2020)
A very cool film about music, life and finding purpose in life. And chuck in a sound track produced by Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, and Jon Batiste, what’s not to love? Side note, here is a cool article where Trent talks about David Bowie and his substance recovery: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/trent-reznor-recalls-how-david-bowie-helped-him-get-sober-229659/2/
2) Happy (Documentary 2012)
A documentary following various stories from across the world on how humans define and find happiness. Most stories involved finding the silver linings in living through hardship. It is a very cool watch that might help you focus on what’s important.
3) The Wild Robot (Dreamworks 2024)
A movie based on a 3 part Novel, following a tale of a Robot named Ron as she adapts to life living among wild animals. It is a surprisingly funny and emotional tale of being a parent and making family.
4) Champion. (Documentary 2005)
The life story of Danny Trejo, following him from a life of crime, drug use, and imprisonment to becoming a beloved actor and sober counselor. The film has some of my favorite stories of recovery, including Danny talking about how he would not change a thing about his life because it helped him become the man he is today. There is an updated 2020 movie, Inmate #1 that I have not seen yet, but its on my list :)
5) Ponyo (Studio Ghibli 2008)
Ok look, if you aren’t a fan of animation and/or family movies my recommendation list is not for you :) But this is my favorite Studio Ghibli film. Its a movie based on the Little Mermaid, about a magic, friendship, and adventure. Animation in this film is top notch, and would highly recommend to all ages.
