988 Suicide Prevention Text Line

988 is now the three-digit dialing code that routes callers to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (or 988 Lifeline). When people call, text, or chat with the 988 Lifeline, they are connected to trained counselors that are part of the existing 988 Lifeline network, made up of over 200 local crisis centers. These counselors are trained to provide free and confidential emotional support and crisis counseling to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress and connect them to resources. These services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, across the United States.

Rape and Abuse Crisis Center

The Fargo-Moorhead Rape and Abuse Crisis Center offers confidential crisis intervention, advocacy, counseling, and education to all persons affected by sexual and domestic violence. 

All victim services are free, confidential, and distributed on a non-discriminatory basis.

YouthWorks

YouthWorks helps ensure all youth have a safe place to belong and be heard. They offer programs like anger management, short-term care and assessment, runaway assistance, Guardian ad Litem services, health and wellness, cultural support groups, transitional living for young adults facing homelessness, and services for victims of human trafficking.  

Veterans Crisis Line

If you're a Veteran in crisis or concerned about one, the Veterans Crisis Line is a free, confidential resource that connects you to a real person specially trained to support Veterans. Dial 988 then press 1.

The Trevor Project

The Trevor Project provides information and support to LGBTQ young people 24/7, all year round. The Resource Center is available to provide knowledge on a variety of topics. Make new friends and community connections on TrevorSpace.

FirstLink

FirstLink is a free, confidential service available to anyone 24/7/365 for listening and support, referrals to resources/help, and crisis intervention. FirstLink answers the 211 helpline, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, and communicates via the text line 898-211. FirstLink provides these services across the entire state of North Dakota and parts of Minnesota. Dial 2-1-1 or text your zip code to 898-211 from anywhere in our service area for confidential help and support.

SENDCAA

The Southeastern North Dakota Community Action Agency provides a range of services and activities designed to alleviate poverty and give low-income people the opportunity to improve their standard of living and achieve self-sufficiency. They offer the Child and Adult Care Food Program, Child Care Center, Head Start Birth to Five, Region V Community Development Corporation, Self-Sufficiency, and Energy & Rehab.

Village Financial Resource Center

The Village Financial Resource Center is a nonprofit community service organization that provides confidential financial guidance, including Consumer Credit Counseling Service (CCCS), money management education, budgeting advice and a  debt management plan. We help consumers trim expenses, develop a workable budget, lower debt payments and repay debts

Community Uplift Program

Community Uplift Program provides support, resources, and assistance in areas of mental health, recovery, housing stability, and more for anyone in the community. They currently offer care coordination and certified peer support services through Community Connect, Free Through Recovery, and 1915i. They also have a free legal kiosk and offer notarizing on a sliding fee scale.
